Important information on Recruitment for the 2022 - 2023 IRT year

Dear Alumni-
IRT is wishing you all well as the semester is wrapping up and the winter holiday season is approaching! Thank you to everyone who has been in touch with IRT staff to express an interest in participating in our recruitment efforts once more and thank you for your graciousness with us getting back to you. We write to you now with some important information about our recruitment plans for the 2022-2023 IRT year.
Recruitment Plan 2022-2023
Due to ongoing challenges from COVID-19 and limited capacity across office staff, our fall and spring recruitment strategy will be slightly different this year. First, we have decided to against hosting a physical Summer Workshop in July 2022. Thus, there will be no distinction between Summer Interns and Associates this cycle. Second, instead of organizing individual recruitment sessions with multiple departments and alumni, we are planning to host four general info sessions virtually during November and December, followed by six webinars in January as part of the “Demystifying IRT’s Admissions Process” webinar series, which highlights particular aspects of the IRT application; here is a summary below:

All dates, zoom links, and times for these info sessions and webinars are listed at the end of this email and will also be posted to our website. In total, IRT will host 10 online webinars between now and January where we will discuss what IRT offers and how to submit a quality application. We endeavor to post recorded versions of both the general IRT info sessions and of the Demystifying IRT’s Admissions Process webinars to our website for those who cannot attend any of the live streams. In this way, we hope to maximize our recruitment efforts while also minimizing the demand on our team at this time.
How can I help?/Can I host my own IRT info session?
IRT encourages you all to organize campus watch parties or host your own events around attending our live webinars, or around watching the recordings. Because this is an especially busy time for the IRT, there may be a delay in our response to emails with questions regarding our recruitment schedule, so we appreciate your continued patience and flexibility.

The Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) is a small non-profit organization that supports students of color, first-generation students, and others committed to addressing issues of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion in education as they apply to Master’s and Doctoral programs on their pathways to careers as educators, professors, administrators, counselors, practitioners, and leaders in K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and other related fields. IRT offers 10 months of support, from June through April, as students research graduate schools, determine graduate program fit, prepare to take the GRE, craft and revise Statements of Purpose and other written materials, and evaluate graduate program offers with the goal of making a sound matriculation decision.
